Platinum® Freight Management is a New Zealand customs broker founded by Peter McRae in 2000. Our team clears parcels, air cargo and sea freight through the New Zealand Customs Service (NZCS) and the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), with seven branches from Auckland to Dunedin.

Platinum® Freight Management is a customs brokerage that helps businesses, individuals and their whānau import goods into Aotearoa New Zealand. We prepare and lodge your import entry with the New Zealand Customs Service (Te Mana Ārai o Aotearoa), meet biosecurity requirements set by the Ministry for Primary Industries (Manatū Ahu Matua), calculate duty and GST, and arrange release and delivery of your goods.
Platinum® started in 2000 with a simple idea: a customs broker that looks after its customers, stays proactive on compliance, and charges a fair price. Today, that same approach runs through seven branches across the country, with one broker looking after each shipment from quote to delivery.

A word from our founder
Why Peter McRae started Platinum®, and the standard the team still works to every day.
It has been over 25 years since I started the company, and this year I asked myself what I was thinking when I started out. I would have to say the goal was to start a customs brokerage that would provide a higher level of service in customs clearance at a fair price. We aim to provide every client with an accurate customs clearance, and to eliminate penalties that may be levied at a later stage by the New Zealand Customs Service.
I wanted a brokerage that was fresh in its approach to the customer, proactive about customs compliance, and had old-fashioned qualities such as looking after the customer and always appreciating that without the customer, the company would cease to exist.
Whether we meet during the year in your home town or at a trade fair, we have the same goal: to do business with someone we respect. I love the work I get to do each day, whether it is clearing diamonds from India, live fish from South East Asia or solar panels from China. Money is not the reason I am in business. I am in business because this is what I do best.
